More Canadians will be going across the border in order to buy gasoline and to do their shopping.http://algirvancanadian.blogspot.com/2011/08/taxes-in-canada-and-in-vancouver-bc.html

  1. Cross border shopping increases smog and pollution
  2. The Canadian dollars that are going across the border will stay in the United States.
  3. Most of our resorts and tourist attractions  can not be reached by public transportation such as the Ever Green or any other rapid-transit line.
  4. Our gasoline price is already among the highest in North America.
  5. Much of  our clothing, food, and other merchandise already costs twice as much in Canada as it does in the United States.

IT IS NOT DUE TO A "HIGH" DOLLAR.
IT IS DUE TO THE OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH PRICES;
PRICES PRICES THAT ARE OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH DUE LARGELY TO OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH TAXES.
OUR BUREAUCRATIC GOVERNMENT AND OUR RESPONSIBLE??? POLITICIANS MAKE SURE THAT NOTHING IN CANADA IS "CHEAP", EFFICIENT, OR, OFTEN, EVEN SAFE, TO USE.

TOURISTS FROM THE U.S.A AND OTHER COUNTRIES ARE STAYING AWAY IN DROVES.
 MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, MAYBE; IF WE WERE TO REDUCE CANADIAN PRICES AND ESPECIALLY TAXES (with a high Canadian dollar , we would still bring in the same VALUE, as compared to other currencies, that we formally did) THERE BY GIVING ALL TOURISTS THE SAME VALUE THEY HAVE BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO IN CANADA, THAT TREND WOULD REVERSE ITSELF, AND WE WOULD LOSE NOTHING. IF IT'S NOT COMING IN, WE CAN'T LOSE IT.
